NSX/ Hardened Rear Transmission Mount

from $20.00

NSX 1991 - 2005 transmission mounts are a wear item that have low availability. CRF created this simple solution to restore or harden your rear transmission mount, creating more efficient power transfer to the chassis of your NSX.

OPTION 1: CRF will harden your mount. -- $1000.00

Send us your cracked or even completely broken motor mounts. We use 60 durometer castable Urethane in the shop to make the hardened mounts and will return them to you.

OPTION 2: CRF will exchange your mount. --$100.00 + $500.00 deposit

We can also send you hardened mounts with an additional $500 (100% refundable) deposit. After you receive our parts, you can send in cracked or even completely broken motor mounts for full refund of your deposit.

OPTION 3: CRF Hardening Plate Kit. -- $20.00

This is a simple tool for repairing cracked or broken NSX rear transmission mount. A pair of plates align the inner spacer with the outer body of the motor mount, assuring the correct orientation of the engine when the hardened mount is installed in your NSX. Sold as a pair, one set will be enough to harden either the front motor mount or the rear transmission mount (manual or automatic).

Hardening Plate Kit Tips: Once the plates are installed use the filler of your choice to 'harden' the mount and maintain the orientation, the plates support the filler to make a stronger bond and allow the largest amount of fill possible because of the conic shape. We recommend removing as much of the ‘bumper’ rubber from the top and bottom of the OEM mount to maximize the amount of urethane you cast into the mount which makes for a stronger mount and less chance the fill will crack over time.

Once the mount is set, most customers leave the plates in place but they can be removed if a softer mount is desired.

At CRF we use 60 durometer castable Urethane to make the hardened mounts we offer for exchange; you can use any product you choose as long as it is oil and heat resistant.

Note: We only offer hardening kits for the lower NSX mounts because these are the most effective counteracting the forces of the motor without adding undue vibration through the chassis.
