NSX Half Shaft/ Wavetrac Differential Modification

Cedar Ridge Fabrication collaborated with Wavetrac® to develop a custom differential for the NSX NA/NB. The differential is designed to fit 5 or 6 speed NSX transmission cases and requires a ring gear from a 1991-94 limited slip differential, giving the option of stock 4.06 ratio or Type-R 4.23 ratio for either transmissions.

Correct installation and intermediate shaft modification is required. We offer a service for modifying customer’s Half Shaft, Half Shaft bearing and seal sets, modifying and rebuilding customer’s Half Shaft and exchange of a rebuilt Half Shaft, modified for the Wavertrac with new bearing and seal($500 deposit).

  • The half shaft shaft between the transmission and the carrier bearing will need to be modified so there is clearance for the patented Wavetrac locking mechanism inside the differential body.

  • 6 mm will need to be removed from the splined section of the half shaft shaft, this part is inboard of the engagement in all NSX differential bodies, and will allow the owner to return the transmission to an OEM differential in the future.

  • Half shaft shaft can supplied, modified for the Wavetrac, with new bearing and seal in the carrier. $500 refundable deposit is required or you can send in your intermediate shaft for modification.
